You probably read in our last newsletter, or you have heard in the studio, that we utilize doTERRA Lemongrass oil on the cool washcloths at the end of our HOT Bik classes. Lemongrass is a digestive aid, is good for soothing muscle ache, is very good for toning skin, and has a scent that is naturally uplifting and energizing. Perfect for after a hot class, yes? Previously, we used Lavender oil, which has calming, soothing properties, is an anti-inflammatory agent, and a natural antihistamine. The only reason we switched to Lemongrass was to give you a change of pace for the summer! But, did you also know we utilize doTERRA Melaleuca (Tea Tree) oil to clean the yoga room floor and on your yoga mats? Melaleuca oil has antifungal, antiseptic, cleansing properties that lend greatly to keeping our studio nice & fresh and funk-free. In addition, in some of the Yin Yoga classes, you may have been lucky enough to get an essential oil treat from your teachers. Science has found that meditative aspects are enhanced–and the mind calmed and reassured–when people are introduced to some of the more grounding doTERRA essential oil blends, like Balance, Peace, and Frankincense, and focusing aspects of the mind are enhanced with a blend called InTune. Nature’s botanicals have been utilized for the entire history of humankind, and we are simply continuing that usage to benefit our lives, your lives, and your experiences at our studio.
